A lot can happen in 300 years. Epsom was chartered on May 18, 1727. Since the first 20 families established their homes along Center Hill Road, we’ve grown into a bustling community of 5,000 neighbors, businesses, schools, churches, and an active municipal government supported by an army of citizen volunteers.

Old cemeteries, historic homes, remnants of mill foundations and abandoned cellar holes in the forest tell the stories of those who have lived, prospered and died here. Just as generations past have left their mark, so will we.

Our legacy is celebrated through the grit, hard work and kindness of our people. First responders risk their lives daily, and neighbors are quick to help one another in times of need.

Now it’s time to celebrate! January 2027 kicks off our Tricentennial 12-month long celebration honoring three centuries of resilience, community, and history. Each month of 2027 will feature events designed to showcase the town’s unique treasures. From winter carnivals and historic property tours to guided hikes in the Epsom Town Forest, pumpkin carving contests, old vehicle parades, art exhibits, a 1727 Church Service, and more, there will be something for everyone.

Virginia Drew, Tricentennial Committee Chair, and a driving force behind this initiative, is very enthusiastic. “Our amazing committee members are working hard to put on a 12-month calendar of activities to tell the story of our town, honoring our past and celebrating our shared future!”

Get your commemorative license plates, available at the Town Office for $30! These plates are approved by the NHDMV to be placed on the front of your vehicles for all of 2027. Other merchandise and apparel can be purchased on the Epsom 300 website.
